The Journey Home From Grandpa’s has quickly become my son’s favorite Barefoot Book. Because we travel several times a year by car to see his grandfather who lives 6 hours away, it’s something he can relate to, even at 2 years old. During the journey, you travel in the family’s yellow car. Along the way, you see many modes of transportation and colors, which is a great learning tool, especially for little boys who are fascinated with vehicles. The colors are beautiful, the pictures are detailed and there is repetition which is another great learning tool. We read this book several times a week.

With 5 children of my own, I understand how difficult it can be to keep kids interested in reading. This site is for all you kids out there that think reading is boring (BOY you just don’t know…) and for all you parents out there that have kids who aren’t big readers. Look for kids books reviews by myself and my kids, and lots of highlights that will be picked by for all you kids out there.
